Many clients come in feeling stuck in their current suffering and do not know how to move forward. Often they have experienced trauma, or are stuck in negative thoughts related to depression, or cycles of worry related to anxiety. Many times their emotions feel too big and they do not know how to manage them, they feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck. Sometimes even continuing to face the same painful emotions over and over without relief. They often find their painful thoughts and feelings confusing and they interfere with many areas of their life, e.g., their relationships, their ability to function at school/work, maintaining daily responsibilities, their sense of overall wellbeing and living the kind of life they are hoping to live.

I strive to help clients identify where they are currently getting stuck and find the best routes to begin to move forward. Often this involves identifying unhelpful beliefs, patterns of behaviour that are perpetuating difficulties, and understanding and learning to regulate and heal painful emotions. I take a personalized approach to each client after getting to know them within their unique life context.

With over a decade of experience as a therapist working in both collaborative group settings and independently, I have worked with a wide range of issues. My areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship challenges with oneself and others, life transitions, self-esteem, emotion regulation, suicidality and self-harm, as well as stress management and workplace issues.

I work from an integrative, trauma-informed approach, drawing upon a strong foundation of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I thoughtfully incorporate elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Self-Compassion, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused therapy to tailor support that fosters resilience and well-being. There are options to focus on short-term treatment or longer-term care.

In addition to clinical practice, I offer professional consultation and supervision to early career professionals or those seeking to expand their areas of practice.

The fit between client and therapist is paramount in facilitating growth, and having an opportunity to connect by phone can help you determine if we may be a good match for working together. If you’re ready to take the first step, reach out for a complimentary phone consultation to explore the fit together.

I enjoy being active and spending time in nature, travelling, reading, and learning new creative skills (e.g., silversmithing!).
